The Nissan Qashqai 360 has been unveiled at the Paris motor show. It is the new trim level for their exciting crossover vehicle. It will replace their current N-tec variant. This model currently represents 40% of all Qashqai sales. The trim level will be available for all engine variants as well as the Qashqai+2.
The Features of the Nissan Qashqai 360
The new Nissan Qashqai gets its name from its new Around View Monitor (AVM) system that is part of the new spec. The system provides a full 360-degree view that is great when you are parking. The driver can focus on any camera to keep an eye on a specific obstacle.
18-inch black alloy wheels are fitted as standard. Gloss black roof rails are fitted to every model along with a full panoramic roof complete with privacy glass.
It is fitted with the new 1.6 dCi engine that replaces the previous 2.0 dCi engine. This change brings the bhp down to 128 from 148, however the torque available is still 1750 rpm instead of 2000 rpm. It seems that performance will still be good. Full details have not been released, but the 30-50 mph acceleration is faster than the 2.0 dCi engine. The 1.6 dCi engine produces 119g/km of CO2 and delivers 62.8mpg on a combined cycle.
Nissan Qashqai Awards
The Quashqai has been winning awards, practically since day one. The car was released in 2007 and in that year won the Best SUV in the What Diesel Car? In the same year, it won the Top Gear award for best SUV.
In 2008, it was voted the Best MPV at the Scottish Car of the Year Awards. It was also voted the Best Medium Family Car in the What Diesel Car awards of 2008. Many were surprised when it won the What Car? Green Award in 2010, on the surface it does not look much like a eco-friendly car, but its CO2 emissions are very low for a car in its class. In 2011, the Nissan Qashqai was voted Best In Class in the Driver Power Survey.
