These days, it is common for firms to make use of cloud computing providers and IT managed services in a bid to make their systems more efficient and effective. One individual who is a firm believer in provisions like this is government worker Adrian Scaife.
Writing on a government blog, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) account manager extolled the benefits of cloud computing, IT PRO reports. He stated: “Cloud computing is so easy to understand that even simple folk like me get the idea.”
Mr Scaife added: “Cloud is not about technology, and it isn’t complicated. It is simply the change from a product-based to a service-based delivery model.”
The expert suggested that some descriptions of cloud technology make the issue more complex than it needs to be. He claimed that definitions range from the “sublime to the ridiculous”.
He went on to remark: “Just remember that cloud is not about computers or technologies, it is about ICT services or ICT enabled business services supplied on a utility basis, just like electricity, water or telephony.”
According to the MoJ worker, using cloud computing providers was a “no-brainer” for his organisation because of all the benefits it provides. He pointed to the lack of capital expenditure involved and the flexibility the technology provides.
Mr Scaife also noted that security is a big concern for the MoJ. It must protect assets of national security and, in addition, it must offer adequate protection for the personal data entrusted to it, he pointed out. The specialist claimed that cloud solutions can help with this, stating: “Cloud services are at least as secure, if not more secure than on-premise systems.”
Thankfully, it is now easier than ever before for organisations to make use of superb and great value IT managed services that can help them to function efficiently and effectively and make the lives of personnel easier.
