How woman swapped lawyer outfit for yoga clothes

Many people around the UK and elsewhere love nothing more at the end of a hard day’s work than swapping their garments for vibrant and colour yoga clothes and taking part in exercises like this. These activities can be a great way to keep fit and to relax.

However, one woman has taken this a step further. Rather than stepping into her yoga wear after work, she has changed her whole career to reflect her passion for the discipline.

Law graduate Vicky Holmstock left her job as a paralegal and started up Yellow Yoga in 2009, the Southport Visiter reports. The 29-year-old was working in her legal role full-time when she decided she would much prefer to be doing yoga instead.

She had moved from London to Liverpool and noticed that yoga classes were harder to come by in her new city. In response, she set up a mobile service.

Commenting on her decision, the entrepreneur said: “Venturing out on my own was exciting. Overheads were low, so it wasn’t too daunting, plus I was glad to get out of the office.”

Ms Holmstock is now one of six teachers at Yellow Yoga who don their yoga clothes to instruct enthusiasts. Their clients range from businessmen to people with learning disabilities.

Recently, she was awarded a Lloyds TSB Enterprise Award for her achievements.

Responding to this, she said: “It’s fantastic! We were really surprised, yoga companies are rarely taken seriously, so this is a great honour.” She also advised anyone else thinking about setting up in business themselves to go ahead and take the plunge. The yoga fan added: “Make use of local business networks and don’t be afraid to ask for help!”

Whether people are planning to attend classes or lead them, it is vital they have the right yoga wear and by heading online, they find the ideal garments for them within no time.
