More people may be turning to the web to source art supplies

It is now easier than ever before for people to access art supplies. Many individuals now head online to get their hands on the resources. After all, this can be quicker and easier than physically heading out to the shops.

Indeed, the quantity of these products sold online may be on the rise. According to Visa Europe, December will be a particularly busy month when it comes to ecommerce.

The organisation suggested that December 3rd would break records in terms of the number of items purchased in cyberspace. It predicted that UK consumers would spend a total of £320 million during the 24-hour period on its cards alone.

One of the attractions of web shopping is the flexibility it affords and Visa Europe pointed out that Britons use a range of devises when sourcing goods online, including their computers, tablets and smartphones.

It also anticipated that transactions on what it dubbed Mega Monday would exceed 6.8 million. This would represent a rise on the same day last year of over a fifth.

People may be purchasing more art materials and other items over the internet because they have growing confidence when it comes to security. This was the opinion expressed by Dr Steve Perry, commercial director at Visa Europe.

He added: “On Mega Monday, people across the UK will go online and use their Visa cards to make
6.8 million transactions, the most in a single day in UK history. That’s 21 per cent more than in 2011, signalling that consumers are becoming increasingly accustomed to the advantages of shopping online for everyday purchases and special items, especially in the lead-up to Christmas. Online shopping now accounts for a significant proportion of all retail spend.”

It seems likely that the trend towards increased ecommerce will continue to gain momentum over coming months and years.
