Tired of your “flabs” or flabby abs? Do you want to get six pack abs? Well then you’ve come to the right place. More likely than not is the fact that you’ve tried your hand at getting a six pack, doing exercises that promise you the results you want. But each fail to deliver or you wouldn’t be here, looking for that one effective program. In this article I will show you five tips to get you started in getting your stomach in shape. However, if you want faster and better results, there’s no substitute for this program: The Truth About Six Pack Abs by Mike Geary.
Here are my five tips for getting rid of belly fat and getting a six pack:
One: Eat right. It is always best to have meals that are complex. That means for each meal, you ought to have carbohydrates, protein and fiber on your plate. Always making sure you have these three food groups paired off in each meal helps you get into the habit of eating healthy. Eating healthy is vital to building your abdominal muscles or your core and shedding off fat so those muscles can be shown.
Second is exercise. Exercise need not be over-thought; it doesn’t have to be complicated. Truth is, a really good 20-minute combination of cardio and crunches can already make for an effective six pack abs workout. This comes with a disclaimer though: you have to have variety. Strain or resistance are important for muscles to grow and be maintained, they are the building blocks of muscles. Muscles adapt to resistance and even degenerate when not used. Changing up your six pack abs workout every two weeks or so is thus important in order to keep your muscles or have them continually grow. For a list of a variety of abs exercises, read Burn the Fat by Tom Venuto. You’ll find good and helpful meal plans too.
Enough rest and sleep are also important. Always remember to rest your muscles. You’ll know when your muscles have rested when the pain from working out has gone away. Along with rest is sleep. Doing enough of both helps you avoid stress. You can avoid abdominal fat when you avoid stress. Storing fat results when the body is stressed out. So you better get rid of stress through exercise and proper rest.
Lastly are the The 15-Minute Standing Rule and The Stomach Vacuum, two seemingly trivial but surprisingly helpful tips that I actually, personally swear by. The 15-Minute Standing Rule: After each meal (especially a big one), stand up for 15 minutes. You can even walk around during that time. This allows your stomach to digest most of the food you’ve eaten and flatten up before you sit down again. The Stomach Vacuum involves proper breathing and the sucking in of your gut, an exercise that will work your inner abdominal muscles which can not be reached by ordinary crunches. Additional inches can be taken off your waist through this exercise. Of course, you still have to do all the other tips or elements discussed earlier.
